Cassandre Deramat and Laetitia Zicchinella, once newcomers to New York, founded In Transition to share their in-depth understanding of multicultural complexity. Cassandre Deramat, a French native from Paris, moved to New York 10 years ago and quickly adapted to the American Way of life. She has been an educator since then, helping children and adults learn about her own culture. Laetitia Zicchinella, a French-Italian native from Nice, moved to New Jersey four years ago. She worked in Monaco, another multicultural city, for the Italian Minister of Industry. Cassandre and Laetitia met at the Lycée Français of New York where they both worked.

Dealing with mostly expatriates, they first started offering relocation services to teachers and quickly understood the need of a newcomer for help in settling in and easing the transition into a new culture. With their multicultural background they have been able to provide assistance to and meet demands of both Americans and foreigners.
